1.1 TYPES OF CONTROL
There is an old proverb saying "United we stand divided we fall". But for that proverb to be true there need to be divisions first. Of course division of work makes things efficient and more manageable and when they unite to work for a cause, they form a whole division. This is same for any organisation and railways is no different in this respect.
There are various types of control in railways. You can basically call them control divisions. They are:-
- Stock control
- DEPUTY control
- Train control (TC)
- Traction Loco Control (TLC)
- Traction power control (TPC)
- Emergency Control
- Test control
- Engine/Loco power control
(NOTE:- Traction are 25000 V overhead wires above trains)
We will talk about them in brief later :-
It keeps track of stocks loading and unloading at different stations and junctions.
It deals with the allocation of wagons on a train. For example:- Suppose a train requires 4 wagons at station A, then deputy control will be will be responsible for allocating them.
1.1.1 Stock Control
It keeps track of stocks loading and unloading at different stations and junctions.
1.1.2 DEPUTY Control
It deals with the allocation of wagons on a train. For example:- Suppose a train requires 4 wagons at station A, then deputy control will be will be responsible for allocating them.
1.1.3 Train Control
It keep updates on train departure arrival and present situation as well as give instructions to every train running. They are responsible for keeping updates of train schedule on internet.
It keeps track of all traction engines i.e. electric engines and allocates them according to the need. E.g Suppose an engine stops working, then TLC will check for a free engine and will allocate that engine for the concerned work.
It deals with maintenance and tracking of overhead power supply lines called traction.
In case of emergencies like derailing of train etc, emergency control takes care of further proceedings like informing authorities etc.
It deals with testing of all other controls so as to make sure they work correctly.
It deals with allocation and management of engines other than electric ones. Diesel engines and and other non-electric engines are managed by it
That ends our first day. Let's proceed to day 2. Hurray!!!!
1.1.4 Traction Loco Control
1.1.5 Traction Power Control
It deals with maintenance and tracking of overhead power supply lines called traction.
1.1.6 Emergency Control
In case of emergencies like derailing of train etc, emergency control takes care of further proceedings like informing authorities etc.
1.1.7 Test Control
It deals with testing of all other controls so as to make sure they work correctly.
1.1.8 Loco Power Control
It deals with allocation and management of engines other than electric ones. Diesel engines and and other non-electric engines are managed by it
That ends our first day. Let's proceed to day 2. Hurray!!!!
