WEEK 1 DAY 2 : DEMONSTRATION

1.2 TYPES OF CONTROL (DEMONSTRATION)

"Practicals come after theory". Well, don't get misguided Day 2 was more like a demonstration of types of control. They took us to various sectors to give us an overview of how things work actually. Well I would say it was somewhat complex still I will talk about things I could understand. Well it was interesting according to me. Let's start

       1.2.1 Train Control

Well according to him everything from departure time etc is taken care by them. Until they don't update it it won't even be updated on internet !!! Well, they maintain records through graphs. I will explain them through an example.

Let us assume four trains : A,B,C,D and four stations P,Q,R,S having distances as PQ = 50 km , QR = 25 km and and RS = 40 km. Also there is a departure station named O ( OP = 10 km ). They will cover the four stations between 9 pm and 10 pm .Ok let's make a table for your better understanding.

Phew.... making a table in blogger is a great headache. Nevertheless let's proceed. First we will make the graph.

Train Graph

The Basics are simple. The train control plots this graph. X-axis is time and Y-axis is station name. Now when the trains arrives or depart a station the station master informs the traffic controller that train has arrived or departed. The traffic controller then marks the train accordingly and stores the data and broadcast it to other controls. It uses this data to control trains. Now a major question arises what about between stations. When the area between stations is divided into no. of signals and when train passes through one signal to other they are informed. So, they get to know that where is exact location of train.  Ok that's ends this page meet you in next one.
